Title : Muscle imbalance effects on musculoskeletal injuries(sport injuries), and new treatment through muscle regeneration by activation of quiescent muscle stem cells
Abstract:
Many sports require an athlete to repeat the same motion or movement time and time again which can cause the athlete's body to become unbalanced. This repetitive use by the same muscle groups causes certain muscles to become much stronger than their opposing muscles. About 65% of injuries come from overuse, which is repetitive use of joints that are rendered dysfunctional by muscular imbalances. These injuries affect performance and ability to continue participation. Muscular strength and balance are crucial parameters for better performance in sports. Muscle imbalance is beginning to become a larger focal point for more athletes as they try and stay off the disabled list. Muscle imbalances can be remedied and the approach is actually fairly simple, strengthen muscles that are weak and stretch muscles that are tight through muscle regeneration. This review showed that sport injuries can be dramatically improved through muscle balance with muscle regeneration by activation, proliferation, and differentiation of quiescent muscle stem cells(satellite cells) of whole body(esp., injury site) at same time back to original muscle length, strength.
