Title : Strategies of orthotic and non-orthotic interventions to offload foot pressure, force, and pain
Abstract:
Excessive foot loading, high plantar pressure, and foot pain are critical issues in clinical practice. Currently, the most common clinical management strategies include orthotic therapy, appropriate footwear selection, correction of abnormal gait patterns based on gait analysis, and therapeutic exercise training aimed at optimizing biomechanical efficiency.
This oral presentation will review current literature and clinical practices concerning potentially effective treatment options to reduce excessive foot loading, high plantar pressure, foot pain, and their associated adverse events. It will also compare the advantages and disadvantages of various treatment strategies, estimated time requirements, medical costs, and expected outcomes. Furthermore, alternative options will be proposed in cases where one management approach fails, aiming to provide clinicians with a more efficient and cost-effective flowchart for practical application.
